This are the words of King Solomon Redux after the great war:
"Who says that Christians need to do this and can't do that?"
Indeed, too many of us thinks that Christianity is about a religion of dos and don'ts; a list can include:
Do's
'Evangelize', as in outreach to people that you don't know
Don't talk about how pretty girls are
Hang around 'biblical' people
Attend church
Attend CG/LG or whatever you name it
Attend events
Be responsible
Don'ts
(Be warned, there's far too many to list)
Smoke
Better not have girl-friend/boy-friend now('you are not ready' that kinda line, anyone?)
Drink
Gamble
Have tattoo
Commit adultery
Hold grudges
(yeah if you want me to list i can write forever)
But who says so? Who says that people with tattoo or smokes are unbiblical? Does that mean that a person is not spiritual when he doesn't attend events or church for some unknown reason? Will Jesus rebuke a guy who tells him that this certain lady in his eyes are a 'chio-bu'? Or when a couple walks into church together, does that mean that they are not actively involved in the body of Christ?
But isn't it thought that we do not judge so as we are not to be judged? Why are we so actively 'passing judgement' on this people that "Oh, he got a girl-friend leh, so probably he's not that biblical since he's confirm not ready at this age." or when this guy with a big dragon tattoo on his leg strolls by; "WAH tattoo! Confirm not good man."
Suppose that you have this friend that is addicting to drinking and smoking and he decides to change over his ways but to little avail; day after day he breaks his promises to someone that he will quit and get over his addiction. What do you think Jesus would do when he is that someone?
Would he not embrace that person and tell him to try again? Would he not SEE that person's sincerity first before his actions?
It is known that every decision or every action you take is done from the heart. What the heart conceives, the actions give births. The Father do not cares much about the action, but the heart decision that a Christian make. For example; it is written: "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Obviously I am not trying to say that holding grudges or having a partner now is good; but he gave us the freedom of choice; and at the same time; all things are acceptable but not beneficial, the correct thing at the wrong time is a wrong endeavour in total, so it totally boils down to your heart attitude. It doesn't matter why or what other people says because this is between you and the Father. No one knows better than the both of you. When you really choose the alternatives, it becomes rather obvious what your real personality is really like: tough steel is only obtainable thru the hell of the furnace.
"Why did you find a non-christian girlfriend?" "Why you never reply our sms-es again?" "Why never go for SOW?"
TRASH IT ALL FOR GOODNESS SAKE. People can ask you one million questions and you can still keep the answer away from them. So stop whining now and find the doorway to freedom by dislodging those lies that the enemy has chained on us.
"Even if I don't go SOW, I show Christ thru my life."
"I am trying to quit smoking and drinking right now."
"I didn't attend *insert event name* because I didn't have money/was busy with family."
"Knock and you will find, seek and you shall receive, speak and you shall be understood."
